Cruelty Free International

Over 200,000 dogs are used in cruel experiments, worldwide every year.

Dogs share crucial emotional capabilities with 3-year old children, but every year thousands suffer in cruel animal testing all around the world. Please help us fight this injustice this Winter.

In the UK, dogs may be injected with or force-fed substances and then watched for side-effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, internal bleeding and organ damage, seizures, paralysis – and even death. The dogs that survive are killed so that the effects of the substances on their bodies can be examined.

Dogs can sense sadness and fear. There is also increasing evidence that they can even feel empathy*. We cannot stand by and allow this cruelty to continue – will you help us?

How you can help:

Please make a donation this New Year to help stop animals from suffering. We rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to create a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals. Every single donation received, whether large or small, helps animals in laboratories.

What your money could do:

  • £3 a month could help us lobby to change laws on testing on dogs
  • £8 a month could help us carry out research into alternative cruelty-free ways of testing, and ensure these are being used wherever possible.
  • £20 a month could keep our undercover investigators at work gathering evidence to expose animal suffering.

Ending testing on dogs

  • 96% of UK testing is carried out on beagles, because of their size and their trusting nature
  • Evidence suggests tests in dogs increase the probability of a new drug being free from harmful side effects in humans by only 2%**
